Bellen.com most popular telecom Website of the Year

Bellen.com was awarded at the Website of the Year 2007 election and voted to be the Most popular Telecom site of 2007. At the most important people’s choice award for websites in the Netherlands 209 sites were nominated, divided amongst 18 categories. Between November 1 and December 10 more than 550,000 votes have been casted on www.onlineawards.nl.

The election of the Website site of the Year 2007 is an initiative of Online Market Research company Metrixlab in association with several media partners. Last year more than 300,000 people voted and the election received support from many prominent internet sites. This year significantly more votes had been cast.

Bellen.com gained the highest number of votes in the Telecom category and is honored with the right to use the Website of the Year logo for one year. The Phone House was voted to be the best telecom Website of the Year with the highest average score on navigation, contents and design. Ben Woldring: “With the complete Bencom team I am very proud to have gained the confidence of the 25,000 – 30,000 daily visitors on the Bencom sites. We want to thank all the people who have voted on Bellen.com in the previous weeks! Besides that, there remains a great challenge to work hard so we can improve our site’s navigation, contents and design.

With more than 50,000 votes the most popular site of all nominees at the Website of the Year 2007 election was the Dutch online community Hyves.nl. A few of the other winners are Autotrader.nl as most popular automotive site, Marktplaats.nl as the most popular shopping site, Wikipedia as the best portal and Google.nl as the best and the most popular search engine.
